Nemmy and stress, not a good combination

I won't be commenting on the items themselves cos a lot of them are still unopened (some were going to remain like that anyway) and I don't really feel up to it on the ones I have opened (not even on the Air movie which is exactly the same as the last one only packaged different), but I will give a word of thanks to Kapow Toys for the gratis Skids and Mudflap.

There is no enjoyment to be found even in having these arrivals

How should I feel about this last week: pleased? depressed? stressed?

I seriously don't know an answer to that, nor do I desire an answer, but I do know that my completing Muv-Luv Unlimited (loved it, but after viewing Meiya's ending; the rest of them kinda bored me cos they were so fucking repetitive!) and playing through Moero Downhill Night 2 (which I'm liking more than the original thus far) helped take my mind of that shit for awhile.

Thursday, hongkongtoysshop2010, I received S.H.Figuarts Masked Rider Decade Violent Emotion.

Basically, this is just the original S.H.Figuarts Decade with two new heads, and a 'Fury Form' (sorry, but that just sounds better than calling it Violent Emotion) one at that (I stuck the other head on my first Decade figure cos it looks that much better).


Friday, Frankie (a.k.a. toyspark), I received G1 Commemorative Decepticon Piranacon.

Compared to the original Piranacon I own, this new release is nowhere near as good quality wise (even my God Neptune has a better sense of quality about it, and that bugger isn't exactly fault free).

For the price he isn't too bad I suppose, but it just aggravates me when parts don't stay connected properly (like Tentakil, the silly bastard who hates being a leg and tries to escape every time I lift-up Piranacon).

What a joy it is to have this on DVD

Besides my joining YouTube this week, the only other event worth noting is that I've finally watched all of PreCure Splash Star in its subbed entirety (it was worth the wait, it really was).

As for purchases, only these DVDs arrived.

This was another series I remember watching as a kid, but it was listening to the Back to the 80's episode review that lead to me getting these sets.

One thing that might appeal to anyone else wanting these sets is that you do not require a muti-region DVD player to watch them, the discs have no regional coding whatsoever.

NemKaixa is the Nemmy of YouTube

Now this is going to be a rare blog post from me, why? Cos I'm not here to plug what I've bought (I'm saving that for the weekend), but just to mention that Nemmy now has a YouTube Channel.

I might upload videos to it at some point, but not right now, cos for starters I don't have a proper video camera and whatever else you need to do this thing right. Not to mention my last outing on YouTube didn't end too well, so I'm playing it rather cautiously this time round.

When a Leader and his Saber crosses a Ghost Commander

Now that I've finished the recently released Matsuribayashi-hen, I'm done with the Higurashi VNs until Higirashi Rei gets a release (although I've already played through the Saikoroshi-hen from it).

Anyway, let's move on to the toys I got this week.


Tuesday, iGear, I received PP01B Nemesis Leader.

For a downscaled version of Masterpiece Convoy this is a pretty decent toy, although I do have my fears in trying to transform the thing cos it has that fragile feel to it.


But it serves its purpose just fine in robot mode that I took this shot with his Masterpiece 'brother' (well, one of them anyway).

If anything, I actually prefer the subtle colour differences on Nemesis Leader (like the red windows).


Wednesday, AmiAmi, I received figma Saber Alter.

This is a figma I've wanted to see for years, and it finally got made!

Saber Alter (a.k.a. Kuroi Saber) is the version of Saber I like most (just look at the banner), as it was from first seeing the Revoltech figure of her that made me want to know more about Fate/stay night (but more importantly, the Heaven's feel route she appeared in from the VN).


Thursday, Kapow Toys, I received Masterpiece MP-3G Starscream Ghost Ver.

This is the sixth time I've bought this mould (the Hasbro Skywarp I got for Christmas was the fifth), and I still like it!

The 'crystal' colouring looks really bloody nice on this guy, so I'm glad I bought it.


Friday, smalljoes, I received G.I. Joe: Resolute Cobra Commander.

Ol' fish-gutter here was a required purchase after seeing G.I. Joe: Resolute.

I just wish his sheath wasn't bent upon opening, and that his helmet would stay on better.

Nemmy's got another black Prime repaint!

I was going to post this up Saturday, but some bad shit happened that day and the only thing that took my mind off it was the latest patch release for Umineko (which I completed this morning).


Monday last week, dvdexclusivemusthaves, I received Pole Position Collectors Edition.

I watched this show quite a bit as a kid, so when I saw listed cheap on DVD, I snapped it up (simple as that really).

This black Prime is one I've wanted since I got Buster Prime, but never bought until now.

I got it directly from Amazon.co.jp as it going for about £40 (not including shipping), and yeah it got stung by customs, but it didn't annoy me as much because the courier was DHL and not Parcelfarce, so I wasn't screwed over with extortionate fees!


Once I got the black Prime, I just had to combine him with Jetfire (yes, I know I've mistransformed it, but it was intentional!) so I can have Jetpower Optimus Prime in 'uniform' colours on my shelf.

Joes, Otomes and even a Runaway

I've just about got over my cold, but the real life shit is continuing to hound me (just my fucking luck, huh?).

Negative shit aside (for now at least), here's this week's purchases.


Monday, argos-clearancebargains, I received G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra Nightbird with Aero Viper.

This is only the second G.I. Joe vehicle I've bought (the first was that bloody H.I.S.S. tank), and damn its impressive (even more so at the price I paid for it)!

It really is quite big; bigger than I expected in fact, but the thing I like about it most is the cocking revolver action when launching the missiles.

I don't care much for the Aero Viper, as his job is to sit his ass in the cockpit like a good little lackey.


Thursday, Play.com, I received Runaway Train.

I'm kinda annoyed about this one cos I decided to buy it after I couldn't locate my Anchor Bay release of the film; and take a guess what I find the very next day?

Nevertheless, Runaway Train is a film that deserves more attention than it gets (and if you're one of those people who haven't seen it yet, SHAME. ON. YOU!) cos there's more going for it than simply a story of a bunch of runaway locomotives in snowy Alaska.

The ending in particular still brings a tear to my eye and left a mighty big impression on Nemmy back when he watched it for first time at the age of 9 (even though I didn't fully understand the meaning behind it back then).


Friday, supermart_usa, I received My-Otome Complete Collection.

Mai-Otome, it wasn't quite as striking to me as Mai-HiME, but it did have some interesting things going for it (like all the unique Robes) and against it (like Nina and her umm... you know... questionable intentions).

Although I was more pissed at the fact Mai Tokiha wasn't in it until the final few episodes!


Yesterday, oddbanana, I received G.I. Joe: Resolute.

Seeing as I've been getting into G.I. Joe more and more (how vexing), I thought I'd watch this 'mature' take on it (and when I did, I was amazed by it).

What sold it to me more than anything was Cobra Commander and his methods of motivating the troops.

Trust me to catch a cold in the summer

It has been a rather shitty week this week what with having a (summer) cold, moments of pain in my left thigh and coping with annoying real life shit on top of that (how fucking wonderful!), but at least it wasn't all bad from a collecting standpoint (also, there were those new patches for SWAN SONG and Muv-Luv too!).


Monday, Amazon.co.uk, I received My-HiME Complete Collection.

Mai-HiME (that's the spelling of 'Mai' I'm going with) was a series I found out about purely by chance a years ago and been a fan of it ever since.

It had somewhat innocent beginnings until the shit (well and truly) hit the fan and got better once the characters were suffering more and more (in my twisted opinion anyway).

The only thing I (still) hold against the series is the ending, cos c'mon, after everything that went down the bloody thing ended on a extremely happy note!


Wednesday, Kapow Toys, I received Headrobots Cobra, Revenge of the Fallen Divebomb, RD-13 Ravage and Hunt for the Decepticons Sea Spray.

The Cobra Headmaster is cool, but nothing special (it didn't connect too well on my Brave). Divebomb is a victim of the stupid monkeys giving him two left landing gears (WHY, DAMMIT! WHY?!). Ravage is okay, but that alt mode is shit. And Sea Spray is stunning, simple, and oh so very awesome.


Thursday, all your music, I received My-Otome Zwei.

I'll save most of my thoughts on Mai-Otome until the complete series DVD I ordered arrives (which I'm hoping will be soon).

As for the Mai-Otome Zwei sequel, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't that great in the end either.

Personally, I preferred the Mai-Otome 0~S.ifr~ prequel that came after this (it was just way more interesting to watch Arika's mother in her time as an Otome).


Friday, comics-and-toys, I received Transformers Crossovers Black Costume Spider-Man.

I already had Crossovers Venom and the black bike Spider-Man, so I thought why not?

Yeah, I know these Crossovers make for shitty toys, but I couldn't resist the black repaint.


Yesterday, coolqueenyc, I received Transformers Animated TA-12 Arcee.

I was planning to keep this MOSC, but the plastic bubble was crushed so servilely that it made more sense for me to open it.

Unlike my Hasbro Arcee, this Takara-Tomy Arcee has minor QC issues like the feet popping off after the slightest bloody movement.


Yesterday also brought me a surprise gift in the form of Star Wars Transformers Clone Commander Cody, which I got from friends that paid the family a visit (well, yesterday was my mum's birthday).

The Turbo Tank mode is very nice, but the robot mode is a clusterfuck of hampering kibble.

Monday, Kapow Toys and dvdmagnetinc, I received the Warbot Defender and King of the Braves GaoGaiGar Season Two Collection.

I think I mentioned it before, but I'll be calling the Warbot Defender Springer (cos c'mon, it fucking screams Springer!), and that's that.

As for the toy itself, I do feel safer in transforming this than the Knight Morpher Commander, but there's still that nagging fear I'm gonna break the damn thing.

And the second half of GaoGaiGar? Do I really need to explain that?


Tuesday, nosvette1 and Reprolabels.com, I received Animated Arcee and Classics Springer stickers.

Arcee's not a bad toy, but it felt somewhat lacking in my eyes after removing it from the packaging and transforming it a few times.

I dunno why, but it just strikes me as underwhelming in the face of other Arcees I have in my collection (such as the BotCon and WonderFest exclusives).


Regarding those stickers for Springer, I think this photo should cover it (and no, there was no room for Hot Rod in it, so don't even ask!).

Today from dragon.media, I received Animated Cybertron Mode Ratchet.

I liked the original Animated Ratchet toy, and this new one is just as good in my opinion.

However, I am pissed off about something...

WHY THE FUCK DOES MINE HAVE TWO RIGHT SHOCK PADDLES!!!

Dammit Hasbro, this is just as fucking retarded as having a Sunstreaker with two right fists.

Can't these employed monkeys tell the difference between left and right?!
