Nemmy's final backlog clearing of 2011

This'll be my last blog post of 2011 and again I'm catching up on the backlog of arrivals that's built up over the last few weeks (nothing new there then).

But during those few weeks I was able to finish the Trial Version of DEARDROPS (I hope the full release comes out soon), finally complete both Little Busters! (now the wait for the additional content of Little Busters! Ecstasy to be translated begins) and Umineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru Episode 8: Twilight of the Golden Witch (I quite enjoy how it ended, but I do admit it had its flaws) and start playing the newly released PC port of MELTY BLOOD: Actress Again Current Code.

More backlog clearing and a belated birthday present

I really need to get back into the habit of doing this more regularly, but I can't see it happening just yet.

In the meantime I've played and completed Bible Black -The Infection- (sadly, it was nowhere near as good as the original) and started Harem☆Party which I now can't being myself to finish (the only route left for me do is Sofie's, but her stupid antics and grating voice really piss me off). So instead of that I finally managed to finish the trial for Aiyoku no Eustia (I do hope the full version of this gets translated at some point).

And as part of a dlvr.it test I'm doing I've also created a blog for myself on Tumblr.

Getting stung takes the fun out of collecting

Even though I planned on prioritising my anime and toku backlog I still ended up getting engrossed in a few visual novels...

I started and completed Conquering the Queen (the Dark Chapter was fun), finally got the good ending for Satoru's Chapter in Remember11 (seriously, how could they end it like that?) and finished the current translation patch for Fate/hollow ataraxia (oh I how wish there was a voice patch for this game).

Nemmy got lucky with Grand Theft Auto!

I should have posted this earlier, but I got very engrossed in playing through Grand Theft Auto IV & Episodes From Liberty City and have only just now finished the story missions in those games.

While we're on the subject of GTA, I chanced upon an awesome deal on Steam where they were selling Grand Theft Auto, Grand Theft Auto 2, Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes From Liberty City together for £4.99.

I know I lost out on getting GTA IV & EFLC cheap, but being able to own the third era trilogy again for a fiver was enough of an incentive for me!

Out with the old PC and in with the new PC

I made the decision last week to replace my 7 year old PC and I did just that as I'm now in procession of a brand new Acer Aspire M3400 (which cost me £400, but it had to be done really). Unlike my old PC this one is vastly more powerful and has no problem meeting my current computing requirements (another reason for choosing it was the fact it can play Blu-ray discs).

Tuesday (last week), AmiAmi, I received...

• S.H.Figuarts Masked Rider Faiz Blaster Form
• figma Kamen Rider Onyx
• Revoltech Danboard Yoku Dekimashita Ver.

I do own the Shouchaku Henshin of Faiz in his Blaster Form, but the S.H.Figuarts release a vastly improved representation of it. One notable addition is the massive pink blade of doom that you can attach to his sword to make it look far more imposing.

figma Kamen Rider Onyx (a.k.a. Kamen Rider Ryuga) is a very nice figure in its own right (I'm a bit disappointed there was no changeable head with glowing red eyes though), but for me S.H.Figuarts is still the preferred choice when it comes these type of figures (if there's a S.H.Figuarts Kamen Rider Ryuga on the horizon, I am so gonna get it). However, I do favour the figma stands over those from any of the S.H.Figuarts I've acquired.

This version of Revoltech Danboard is a re-release of the figure with a 'Very Well Done' mark slapped on both it and the base. I've had a fondness of this figure since it originally came out and even went to the trouble of getting the Amazon.co.jp and 7-Eleven versions of it too.

Without Muv-Luv I might not have got this

Another week of arrivals for me to post about (even though I'm late in doing so again).

Wednesday, all_your_music, I received Rumbling Hearts The Complete Series.

Just so we're clear, I'll be referring to this series as Kimi ga Nozomu Eien (or simply KimiNozo) from this point on.

Anyway, I've mainly known of KimiNozo from playing Muv-Luv (and seeing Akane play a role of importance in both Muv-Luv Extra and Muv-Luv Unlimited), but it wasn't until I played through the rest of Muv-Luv Alternative and saw Haruka and Mitsuki show up that I decided to get the anime (as the KimiNozo visual novel hasn't been translated yet) so I could learn more about these characters and better understand some of the references made to KimiNozo.

Saturday, wonderonlinestore, I received figma Nodoka Manabe.

Nodoka was the only K-ON! character I didn't have the figma of as I unfortunately missed the deadline in being able to order one last year, and the secondary market prices were pretty high too.

But thanks to a couple of eBay vouchers I was finally able to get one for roughly half the cost.

Mercy is not dispensed here, fools... only RAGE!

I thought it'd be a quiet week this week, but ended up receiving quite a few deliveries.

Besides that, I finished the Elis and Kiri routes in Canvas2, and there's also Remember11 for me for to do when I get a spare moment.

Wednesday, rosarybox, I received figma Meiya Mitsurugi.

I knew next to nothing about Meiya when I first saw the figma of her, but after playing (the now translated) Muv-Luv Extra and Muv-Luv Unlimited, you could say it sparked my interest.

I didn't care much for her role in Muv-Luv Extra (it was a little too stupid at times), but once I got to Muv-Luv Unlimited, that pretty much convinced me to buy this figma of her.

One minor complaint I have isn't about the figma itself, but the screws of the stand... mine have RUST on them!!!

Thursday, Kapow Toys, I firstly received...

• Generations Darkmount
• Generations Red Alert
• Generations Blurr
• Generations Cybertronian Megatron
• Generations Cybertronian Soundwave
• Generations Dirge

I've only opened Blurr, Dirge and Straxus (Darkmount my ass!) thus far, and I'm really loving the awesomeness of Straxus. His third mode is rather shitty, but all is forgiven in robot mode.

Thursday, db_toysgarden, I secondly received DX Chogokin S.M.S Transformable Space Attack Carrier Macross Quarter.

I had a £13 eBay voucher to use and I couldn't really think of anything I seriously wanted, so I took a gamble and decided on the Macross Quarter (Well, I did rewatch Macross Frontier recently).

The box arrived a bit worse for ware (thank fuck I wasn't intending to keep it MISB), but the contents of Quarter itself were fine once I opened and assembled it.

Although I'm quite impressed with it, transforming the thing is a right pain (those shoulder joints are shockingly tight, so tight it requires excessive force to move them.), but for the price I paid I'm not too displeased with it overall (I might be if I paid full whack).

Friday, littlewoods-clearance and Amazon.co.uk, I received...

• Revenge of the Fallen Autobot Skids
• Escaflowne Complete Collection

Skids was bought because I found him cheap, but after opening him up and transforming him I was actually pretty damn surprised at how good he is (and now I want his blasted twin!).

Also, I FINALLY received my fucking Escaflowne from Amazon after waiting and waiting for the bloody thing to arrive!!!

Raging Crystal Primes and a lot of NO, Thank You!

This is going to be such an awesome way to start a post cos Nemmy is already extremely fucking pissed off! Why I hear ask? That would be because Amazon had posted my order of the Anime Legends Escaflowne DVD last fucking Saturday (the official date of release was Monday) that I'M STILL FUCKING WAITING ON TO ARRIVE!!!

Seriously, why the fuck is it taking so long to arrive (just thinking about it is making me even more pissed) that's what I'd like to bloody well know?!

Not only that, but those fuckers at Customs tried (and gloriously FAILED I should add) to sting me on the following haul from Japan. Even so, the bastards still managed to delay the delivery of it by a day while they were fucking around in their attempt to extort more money out of me! This time however, I got the winning hand and WON! WON!! WON!!!

Anyway, that's enough ranting (and the dropping of F-Bombs) for now, it's time for the haul itself.

Thursday, Fan2Fan, I (firstly) received...

• Revoltech Three-stage Transformation Valkyrie VF-1J Max Ver.
• figma Yui Hirasawa
• figma Tsumugi Kotobuki
• figma Ritsu Tainaka
• figma Azusa Nakano
• Revoltech Three-stage Transformation Valkyrie VF-1J Milia Ver.
• figma Ui Hirasawa
• figma Saber Alter
• figma Black☆Rock Shooter
• Nendoroid Snow Miku

Thursday, Fan2Fan, I (secondly) received...

• Good Smile Company 1/7 Saber Lily ~Golden Caliburn~

Thursday, Fan2Fan, I (thirdly) received...

• Transformers 2010 Henkei Sons of Cybertron
• Transformers Animated Encyclopedia
• Transformers 2010 Animated Sons of Cybertron
• Animated TA-38 Wingblade Optimus Prime

Although this isn't a bad haul by Nemmy standards, it will seem a little weak in the face of what I will be receiving (provided it gets here without interference from those fuckers at Customs) that'll make some folk pretty damn envious (all I can say is remember the oath sworn through courage).

Nemmy and stress, not a good combination

Like last week, I'm still feeling the same, only way more stressed from having another dealing with those fuckers at HMRC and Parcelfarce that cost me £31 in fees!

Monday, Fan2Fan, I received...

• Kotobukiya 1/8 Kuroko Shirai
• Alter 1/8 Yui Hirasawa
• Alter 1/8 Mio Akiyama

Monday, Fan2Fan, I also received...

• DX Chogokin VF-27β Lucifer Valkyrie Grace O' Connor Custom

• Busou Shinki Altlene (with bonus helmet)
• Alternity A-04 Starscream White Pearl

• Alternity A-04 Skywarp Witch Purple Pearl

• S.H.Figuarts Kamen Rider Skull
• figma Mio Akiyama
• Henkei! Henkei! Gentei! Gentei! Dark Skyfire

Thursday, Kapow Toys and derbycitymedia, I received...

• Generations Cybertronian Optimus Prime
• Generations Cybertronian Bumblebee
• Revenge of the Fallen Autobot Skids & Mudflap
• Generations Autobot Drift
• Generations Thrust
• Air The Motion Picture

I won't be commenting on the items themselves cos a lot of them are still unopened (some were going to remain like that anyway) and I don't really feel up to it on the ones I have opened (not even on the Air movie which is exactly the same as the last one only packaged different), but I will give a word of thanks to Kapow Toys for the gratis Skids and Mudflap.

When a Leader and his Saber crosses a Ghost Commander

Now that I've finished the recently released Matsuribayashi-hen, I'm done with the Higurashi VNs until Higirashi Rei gets a release (although I've already played through the Saikoroshi-hen from it).

Anyway, let's move on to the toys I got this week.

Tuesday, iGear, I received PP01B Nemesis Leader.

For a downscaled version of Masterpiece Convoy this is a pretty decent toy, although I do have my fears in trying to transform the thing cos it has that fragile feel to it.

But it serves its purpose just fine in robot mode that I took this shot with his Masterpiece 'brother' (well, one of them anyway).

If anything, I actually prefer the subtle colour differences on Nemesis Leader (like the red windows).

Wednesday, AmiAmi, I received figma Saber Alter.

This is a figma I've wanted to see for years, and it finally got made!

Saber Alter (a.k.a. Kuroi Saber) is the version of Saber I like most (just look at the banner), as it was from first seeing the Revoltech figure of her that made me want to know more about Fate/stay night (but more importantly, the Heaven's feel route she appeared in from the VN).

Thursday, Kapow Toys, I received Masterpiece MP-3G Starscream Ghost Ver.

This is the sixth time I've bought this mould (the Hasbro Skywarp I got for Christmas was the fifth), and I still like it!

The 'crystal' colouring looks really bloody nice on this guy, so I'm glad I bought it.

Friday, smalljoes, I received G.I. Joe: Resolute Cobra Commander.

Ol' fish-gutter here was a required purchase after seeing G.I. Joe: Resolute.

I just wish his sheath wasn't bent upon opening, and that his helmet would stay on better.

This is truly a day for Masterpieces

Welcome to another day's worth of bragging from yours truly.

The first parcel to arrive was from Fan2Fan, and it contained the following.

• Masterpiece MP-8X King Grimlock
• Masterpiece MP-1B Convoy Black Ver. x2
• Masterpiece MP-1B Convoy Black Ver. e-Hobby comic Vol.01 x2
• figma Mikuru Asahina Fighting Waitress Ver.
• figma Tsuruya-san Culture Festival Maid Ver.
• figma Canaan
• Revoltech Gurren & Lagann

Then a few hours later I got this G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra Baroness Attack on the G.I. Joe Pit from Helgy toYs.

Compared to the Baroness I got yesterday, I'm liking this one a bit more (but I'm still not sold on these G.I. Joe figures entirely yet).

Oh, and before Nemmy goes, he may as well show that someone's prediction in him owning four Masterpiece Black Convoys finally came true.

Which means Nemmy can now have one in vehicle mode, one in robot mode, one to keep MISB, and another as a spare just for the hell of it!

Another load of toys fresh from Japan

Today brought me another delivery of toys from Fan2Fan.

Most of the items were of the figma and Revoltech variety.

• Revoltech SFO He Tai Shou
• figma Makina Hoshimura
• figma Haruhi Suzumiya Cheerleader Ver.
• figma Mikuru Asahina Cheerleader Ver.
• figma Haruhi Suzumiya Summer Clothes Ver.
• Revoltech Revolution Jagi
• Revoltech SFO Chun-Li
• Revoltech Fraulein Yoko Movie ver.
• figma Signum
• figma Saber Casual Ver.
• figma Shirou Emiya
• S.H.Figarts Masked Rider Gaoh

But I did get a couple of anime figures too.

Max Factory 1/8 Haruhi Suzumiya Gekisou Ver.
Alter 1/7 Fate T. Harlaown Shin Sonic Form

This will probably be the last of my 'big' hauls for 2009, and it was a pretty decent one at that.

Nemmy has returned with another load of toys

It has been a couple of months since I last posted here but never-mind; having a lack of motivation in-between getting distracted by other things isn't the best thing to have when thinking of stuff to write for a blog.

So once again I'll just be putting more of what I've been buying.

First we have some Animated repaints I got from a sale on Play.com.

• Animated Shadow Blade Megatron
• Animated Blazing Lockdown

Next we have the DX Ixa gear I was lucky to get on clearance from HobbyLink Japan.

• DX Ixa Belt
• DX Ixa Calibur
• DX IxaRiser

Then to further complete my need for black repaints I went to Kapow Toys and picked-up this little beauty.

• Alternity A-01 Convoy Super Black

Now we come to the first part of the latest haul I received from Fan2Fan.

• Griffon 1/7 Mikuru Asahina Gothic Punk ver.
• Alter 1/8 Haruhi Suzumiya Uniform Ver.
• Kotobukiya 1/8 Tomoyo Sakagami
• Alter 1/8 Haruhi Suzumiya Chara-Ani Uniform Ver.

Now here's the second part of that haul from Fan2Fan.

• Revoltech VF-1J Hobby Japan Milia Ver.
• S.H.Figuarts Masked Rider 2
• figma Saber Lily (with PS2 game)
• figma Ryoko Asakura
• Revoltech Revolution Rei
• S.H.Figuarts Masked Rider Decade
• figma Yuki Nagato Evil Witch Ver.
• figma Fate T. Harlaown
• Revoltech Fraulein Haruhi Suzumiya (with Wii game)
• S.H.Figuarts Masked Rider DiEnd
• Nendoroid Yoko
• Revoltech Fraulein Yoko Animate Movie Ver.

And finally today from Play.com, we have the repaints of the only RotF toys I own.

• Revenge of the Fallen Swerve
• Revenge of the Fallen Dead End

I think that's everything covered now. I don't think there's anything major missing, but knowing me I've probably forgotten something along the way.

Starting the week with a load of new toys

I'll keep this brief as I want to have a better look at this haul I received from Fan2Fan.

I got me some figma, Revoltech and Souchaku Henshin.

• figma.BP Suzaku Kururugi x2
• figma Doala Visitor ver.
• figma Rin Kagamine
• figma Len Kagamine
• Revoltech Fraulein Mami Futami Snow Strawberry Ver.

• figma Shana Enpatsu ver.
• Souchaku Henshin Masked Rider Arc & Rey

A few more anime figures.

• Gift 1/8 Saber
• Alter 1/7 Teana Lanster
• Lilics 1/6 Limit Gunz

And finally, I have these Valkyries from Macross Frontier.

• DX Chogokin VF-25F Messiah Alto Custom
• DX Chogokin VF-25S Messiah Ozma Custom

This little assortment of goodies will keep me busy for awhile until my next shipment arrives.

I never thought this haul would arrive today!

I got myself quite the unexpected haul from Fan2Fan today.

The reason it was unexpected is because I didn't even know that Ryan had sent it until the Parcelfarce guy arrived with them.

More importantly though, here are all the wonderful toys that were in those parcels.

These were the Revoltech, figma and S.I.C. items I received.

• Revoltech Fraulein Haruka Hasegawa
• Revoltech Fraulein Miki Hoshii Noel Angelic Ver.
• S.I.C. Masked Rider Shadow Moon & Black
• figma Miyuki Takara Winter Uniform ver.
• figma Sun Seto
• figma Sakura Hime JPWA Tag Tournament ver.

These were the Nendoroid and freebie items I received.

• Nendoroid Miku Hatsune
• Nendoroid Rin Kagamine
• Nendoroid Len Kagamine
• Nendoroid Shana Epatsu-Shakugan Ver.
• Nendoroid Saber Lion
• Some gashapon-esque Masked Rider Zanki figure

This was (by far) the largest item I received.

• Alter 1/7 Hayate Yagami

And finally, these were the anime figure items I received.

• Good Smile Company 1/7 Shiki Ryougi Garannodou
• Alpha x Omega 1/8 Kallen Kouzuki Bunny Girl Ver.
• Wave 1/8 Yoko Space-Look Ver.
• Alter 1/8 Asa Shigure
• Resinya 1/6 Kudryavka Noumi Wafu pose ver.
• Kotobukiya 1/8 Kyou Fujibayashi

Personally, I think the biggest shocker inside this haul for me was the Hayate figure cos the box for her was so fucking huge she needed her own damn photo!

Do I really need to buy another game just to get a figma?

I knew it'd happen sooner or later, but I didn't think the first Queen's Blade figma I'd see would be an exclusive that's packaged with a PSP game.

I shouldn't be so surprised that they're doing this with Cute because it's similar to what they've done before with Chouyuusha Haruhi and Saber Lily.

UPDATE 16/06/2009 - New pictures of Cute have been added to that website and they can be found here.

Here's another figma to add to the list

I wish Max Factory would slow down on their figma releases already!

But that's just me being selfish after seeing this Golgo 13 figma available for pre-ordering.

This character isn't even one I'm all that knowledgeable about either. I just want it because it looks cool.

I really need to catch up on my figma collecting

Every time I see a new figma release for pre-order, it only makes me think of how far I am behind in collecting them all. Quite annoying really.

Nevertheless, I will eventually get these two new figmas at some point with any luck.

And the newest ones in case you missed it are of IkkiTousen's Sonsaku Hakufu and Muv-Luv's Meiya Mitsurugi.

Sonsaku I know quite well from watching the IkkiTousen anime and the vast amount of figures I've seen of her on the market. The same can't be said for Meiya as I know very little about the ins and outs of Muv-Luv.

Will this be the first of many Disney character figmas?

This new figma sure surprised me when I first saw it.

I originally thought it was something related to Miku Hatsune judging from its looks.

But it turns out to be a character named Drössel from some Disney production called Fireball.

Could this release be the beginning of more Disney characters entering the figma range?

The first Wolkenritter figma enters the fray

Another figma is now available for pre-ordering, and this one is going to be awesome.

Here we have Signum of the Wolkenritter to continue the range of Nanoha figmas.

Some of you may remember that I got a figure of her in a haul not too long ago.

Anyway, I will say Max Factory have done well here in giving Signum the Schwertform, Schlangenform and Bogenform versions of her Armed Device Laevatein.

And even though she wouldn't have been my first choice of the Wolkenritter to see as a figma. It does give me hope that they'll do one of Vita later on.
