The trials of wanting a Shattered Glass Rodimus!

Before I start on this week's hauls, I think I should point out that Nemmy is now on Facebook! I had actually been thinking of signing up to it for awhile but it never really went beyond that until a few days ago (again, thoughts go out to those affected by the earthquake in Japan) when I just thought "might as well" and did so on a whim (you should know by now that whims come very naturally to me).

Monday, transformersera, I received...

• Timelines Shattered Glass Rodimus
• Timelines Shattered Glass Megatron
• Timelines Shattered Glass Divebomb

You wouldn't believe the hassles I had in trying to get a Shattered Glass Rodimus.

First I win a auction for Shattered Glass Rodimus at the beginning of January which ultimately never arrived after weeks and weeks and weeks of waiting, then I was being messed around by the seller (who shall remain nameless) when trying to get the refund that he himself promised and was getting nothing but excuse after excuse after excuse, so finally I had no other option except to report the guy in order to resolve the issue (thankfully for me eBay ruled in my favour and was able to get my money back).

After that I used said refund to help fund my winning these three guys (most notably for the Shattered Glass Rodimus). Only trouble I had here was with the amount declared on the parcel as it was for the total sum I paid for them on eBay, which means those thieving fuckers at Customs (and Parcelfarce) had a good ol' field day in stinging me with charges totalling £120.77 (seriously, I shit you not).

The only good thing I can say about all the whole sorry ordeal is that I'm finally able to complete my Shadow Scythe with a Shattered Glass Rodimus!

The total combined cost once you factor in all the Customs charges I had to pay for both this guy and the armour is probably enough to make some out there feint, but in a positive light he's also a proud standing personified achievement in showing how much shit I went through to obtain it and succeeding in the end!

Shattered Glass Megatron is a mighty fine toy in its own right too. Even though I own several versions of the mould (both Hasbro and Takara) already, I still rate it quite favourably.

Wednesday, CSToys International, I received S.H.Figuarts Masked Rider DiEnd Complete Form.

This was purchased after the 'Figuarts Tuesday' plan had officially come to an end in a special one week extension.

After I got Decade in his Complete Form, getting DiEnd in his Complete Form became the next logical choice. There's no real deeper or significant meaning behind this one.

Friday, animeking_inc, I received S.H.Figuarts Masked Rider Dark Kiva.

This was also bought in the special one week extension to the 'Figuarts Tuesday' plan.

Dark Kiva was a Rider I originally wanted a Souchaku Henshin figure of back when he first appeared in Kamen Rider Kiva. Yeah, his design is practically a slightly altered version of Kiva's Emperor Form, but he looks incredibly sinister (I really dig that colour scheme).

He even comes packaged with the Zanvat Sword and the Jacorder (cos Saga needs love too) for weapons (I currently have mine wielding both!).

Saturday, zoverstocks, I received Macross Plus The Ultimate Edition.

After listening to a certain podcast (which I've already mentioned) I thought I'd take a look on Amazon to see how much the DVD was currently going for. Well, I found it on there for £4.50 (including shipping) and pretty much snapped it up on the spot!

Mercy is not dispensed here, fools... only RAGE!

I thought it'd be a quiet week this week, but ended up receiving quite a few deliveries.

Besides that, I finished the Elis and Kiri routes in Canvas2, and there's also Remember11 for me for to do when I get a spare moment.

Wednesday, rosarybox, I received figma Meiya Mitsurugi.

I knew next to nothing about Meiya when I first saw the figma of her, but after playing (the now translated) Muv-Luv Extra and Muv-Luv Unlimited, you could say it sparked my interest.

I didn't care much for her role in Muv-Luv Extra (it was a little too stupid at times), but once I got to Muv-Luv Unlimited, that pretty much convinced me to buy this figma of her.

One minor complaint I have isn't about the figma itself, but the screws of the stand... mine have RUST on them!!!

Thursday, Kapow Toys, I firstly received...

• Generations Darkmount
• Generations Red Alert
• Generations Blurr
• Generations Cybertronian Megatron
• Generations Cybertronian Soundwave
• Generations Dirge

I've only opened Blurr, Dirge and Straxus (Darkmount my ass!) thus far, and I'm really loving the awesomeness of Straxus. His third mode is rather shitty, but all is forgiven in robot mode.

Thursday, db_toysgarden, I secondly received DX Chogokin S.M.S Transformable Space Attack Carrier Macross Quarter.

I had a £13 eBay voucher to use and I couldn't really think of anything I seriously wanted, so I took a gamble and decided on the Macross Quarter (Well, I did rewatch Macross Frontier recently).

The box arrived a bit worse for ware (thank fuck I wasn't intending to keep it MISB), but the contents of Quarter itself were fine once I opened and assembled it.

Although I'm quite impressed with it, transforming the thing is a right pain (those shoulder joints are shockingly tight, so tight it requires excessive force to move them.), but for the price I paid I'm not too displeased with it overall (I might be if I paid full whack).

Friday, littlewoods-clearance and Amazon.co.uk, I received...

• Revenge of the Fallen Autobot Skids
• Escaflowne Complete Collection

Skids was bought because I found him cheap, but after opening him up and transforming him I was actually pretty damn surprised at how good he is (and now I want his blasted twin!).

Also, I FINALLY received my fucking Escaflowne from Amazon after waiting and waiting for the bloody thing to arrive!!!

Raging Crystal Primes and a lot of NO, Thank You!

This is going to be such an awesome way to start a post cos Nemmy is already extremely fucking pissed off! Why I hear ask? That would be because Amazon had posted my order of the Anime Legends Escaflowne DVD last fucking Saturday (the official date of release was Monday) that I'M STILL FUCKING WAITING ON TO ARRIVE!!!

Seriously, why the fuck is it taking so long to arrive (just thinking about it is making me even more pissed) that's what I'd like to bloody well know?!

Not only that, but those fuckers at Customs tried (and gloriously FAILED I should add) to sting me on the following haul from Japan. Even so, the bastards still managed to delay the delivery of it by a day while they were fucking around in their attempt to extort more money out of me! This time however, I got the winning hand and WON! WON!! WON!!!

Anyway, that's enough ranting (and the dropping of F-Bombs) for now, it's time for the haul itself.

Thursday, Fan2Fan, I (firstly) received...

• Revoltech Three-stage Transformation Valkyrie VF-1J Max Ver.
• figma Yui Hirasawa
• figma Tsumugi Kotobuki
• figma Ritsu Tainaka
• figma Azusa Nakano
• Revoltech Three-stage Transformation Valkyrie VF-1J Milia Ver.
• figma Ui Hirasawa
• figma Saber Alter
• figma Black☆Rock Shooter
• Nendoroid Snow Miku

Thursday, Fan2Fan, I (secondly) received...

• Good Smile Company 1/7 Saber Lily ~Golden Caliburn~

Thursday, Fan2Fan, I (thirdly) received...

• Transformers 2010 Henkei Sons of Cybertron
• Transformers Animated Encyclopedia
• Transformers 2010 Animated Sons of Cybertron
• Animated TA-38 Wingblade Optimus Prime

Although this isn't a bad haul by Nemmy standards, it will seem a little weak in the face of what I will be receiving (provided it gets here without interference from those fuckers at Customs) that'll make some folk pretty damn envious (all I can say is remember the oath sworn through courage).

Nemmy and stress, not a good combination

Like last week, I'm still feeling the same, only way more stressed from having another dealing with those fuckers at HMRC and Parcelfarce that cost me £31 in fees!

Monday, Fan2Fan, I received...

• Kotobukiya 1/8 Kuroko Shirai
• Alter 1/8 Yui Hirasawa
• Alter 1/8 Mio Akiyama

Monday, Fan2Fan, I also received...

• DX Chogokin VF-27β Lucifer Valkyrie Grace O' Connor Custom

• Busou Shinki Altlene (with bonus helmet)
• Alternity A-04 Starscream White Pearl

• Alternity A-04 Skywarp Witch Purple Pearl

• S.H.Figuarts Kamen Rider Skull
• figma Mio Akiyama
• Henkei! Henkei! Gentei! Gentei! Dark Skyfire

Thursday, Kapow Toys and derbycitymedia, I received...

• Generations Cybertronian Optimus Prime
• Generations Cybertronian Bumblebee
• Revenge of the Fallen Autobot Skids & Mudflap
• Generations Autobot Drift
• Generations Thrust
• Air The Motion Picture

I won't be commenting on the items themselves cos a lot of them are still unopened (some were going to remain like that anyway) and I don't really feel up to it on the ones I have opened (not even on the Air movie which is exactly the same as the last one only packaged different), but I will give a word of thanks to Kapow Toys for the gratis Skids and Mudflap.

Nemmy has returned with another load of toys

It has been a couple of months since I last posted here but never-mind; having a lack of motivation in-between getting distracted by other things isn't the best thing to have when thinking of stuff to write for a blog.

So once again I'll just be putting more of what I've been buying.

First we have some Animated repaints I got from a sale on Play.com.

• Animated Shadow Blade Megatron
• Animated Blazing Lockdown

Next we have the DX Ixa gear I was lucky to get on clearance from HobbyLink Japan.

• DX Ixa Belt
• DX Ixa Calibur
• DX IxaRiser

Then to further complete my need for black repaints I went to Kapow Toys and picked-up this little beauty.

• Alternity A-01 Convoy Super Black

Now we come to the first part of the latest haul I received from Fan2Fan.

• Griffon 1/7 Mikuru Asahina Gothic Punk ver.
• Alter 1/8 Haruhi Suzumiya Uniform Ver.
• Kotobukiya 1/8 Tomoyo Sakagami
• Alter 1/8 Haruhi Suzumiya Chara-Ani Uniform Ver.

Now here's the second part of that haul from Fan2Fan.

• Revoltech VF-1J Hobby Japan Milia Ver.
• S.H.Figuarts Masked Rider 2
• figma Saber Lily (with PS2 game)
• figma Ryoko Asakura
• Revoltech Revolution Rei
• S.H.Figuarts Masked Rider Decade
• figma Yuki Nagato Evil Witch Ver.
• figma Fate T. Harlaown
• Revoltech Fraulein Haruhi Suzumiya (with Wii game)
• S.H.Figuarts Masked Rider DiEnd
• Nendoroid Yoko
• Revoltech Fraulein Yoko Animate Movie Ver.

And finally today from Play.com, we have the repaints of the only RotF toys I own.

• Revenge of the Fallen Swerve
• Revenge of the Fallen Dead End

I think that's everything covered now. I don't think there's anything major missing, but knowing me I've probably forgotten something along the way.

Starting the week with a load of new toys

I'll keep this brief as I want to have a better look at this haul I received from Fan2Fan.

I got me some figma, Revoltech and Souchaku Henshin.

• figma.BP Suzaku Kururugi x2
• figma Doala Visitor ver.
• figma Rin Kagamine
• figma Len Kagamine
• Revoltech Fraulein Mami Futami Snow Strawberry Ver.

• figma Shana Enpatsu ver.
• Souchaku Henshin Masked Rider Arc & Rey

A few more anime figures.

• Gift 1/8 Saber
• Alter 1/7 Teana Lanster
• Lilics 1/6 Limit Gunz

And finally, I have these Valkyries from Macross Frontier.

• DX Chogokin VF-25F Messiah Alto Custom
• DX Chogokin VF-25S Messiah Ozma Custom

This little assortment of goodies will keep me busy for awhile until my next shipment arrives.

August gathering for the Galactic Fairy

I was beginning to think Alpha x Omega weren't going to release the other Macross Frontier figures they showed off at some event I can no longer recall.

But that is no longer a worry as their Sheryl Nome figure has just gone up for pre-ordering in the usual places.

Now I didn't like how the series ended, but I'm still interested in owning a figure of the Galactic Fairy.

Actually, make that most Macross Frontier related merchandise in general (like Klan Klang figure I got not too long ago).

I'm feeling rather happy right now!

I just received my newest haul from Fan2Fan today. It was quite a big haul too as it took two boxes to ship it all over from Japan.

I'll break the run-down of what was inside them into three parts - Kamen Rider, Anime figures and Transformers.

These were the Kamen Rider items in the parcels.

• S.H.Figuarts Masked Rider Kabuto
• S.H.Figuarts Masked Rider Gatack
• S.H.Figuarts Masked Rider 1

• S.H.Figuarts Masked Rider V3
• S.H.Figuarts Masked Rider Caucasus
• S.I.C. Masked Rider Den-O Gun Form & Ryutaros Imagin
• S.I.C. Masked Rider Den-O Rod Form & Ax Form
• Medicom Project BM! Masked Rider Nega Den-O

These were the Anime figure items in the parcels.

• Alpha x Omega 1/8 Klan Klang Micron Ver.

• Medicom Project BM! Zero (R2 Ver.)
• Revoltech Danboard 7-Eleven Ver.

And finally, these were the Transformers items in the parcels.

• Henkei! Henkei! C-09 Lambor
• Henkei! Henkei! C-10 Cybertron Streak
• Henkei! Henkei! C-11 Ironhide
• Henkei! Henkei! C-14 Ratchet
• Henkei! Henkei! D-05 Destron Octone
• Henkei! Henkei! D-06 Galvatron

Not a bad haul if I do say so myself!

Speaking out on the fandub of Macross: DYRL?

Macross is one of the main well known franchises in Japan I don't follow a great deal. I buy the odd occasional toy here and there, but that's it.

I've never watched any Macross series (including Robotech) before picking up Macross Frontier, which I actually enjoyed till I saw that rage inducing excuse they call a conclusion (DAMN YOU, SATELIGHT!).

Anyway, this post isn't about Frontier, but rather my incoherent thoughts on the Dark Heroes Entertainment fandub of the Macross movie Do You Remember Love?

A production that has been heavily pimped by my mate Time Lord on various internet forums.

It should be known that I'm not the biggest fan when it comes to dubbed Japanese anime. However, I decided to bite the bullet on this one and watch it nonetheless.

Ol' Timey will get a kick from reading this bit, but I'll have to grudgingly admit I was pleasantly surprised at how incredibly well done the fandub was. The only real criticism I had toward it was the lack of English subtitles for the Zentradi spoken language scenes in the online streaming version I watched on YouTube.

In closing, I would class this as something I could recommend wholeheartedly without seeing the original Japanese release beforehand. Although I will grabbing their downloadable WMV version (with English subtitles) for when I watch it again with an audience this weekend.
