Kanon with a side of Die Hard

Here's some more DVDs I got this week.

First we have Die Hard 4.0 Ultimate Action Edition from uk-no1-store that arrived on Tuesday.

This is the one with the 'Unrated' cut I mentioned before, and boy it makes it feel more like a Die Hard film with all the profanity and gore intact.

And now to today where I received Kanon the Complete Collection from supermartusa.

Yeah, I'll admit Kanon is a very cutesy series, but its also one of the better adaptations I've seen of a visual novel (unlike some which make me rage!).

Hell, you may even recall some of the posts I made about the Kanon VN when it was in the stages of having partial translation releases.

Thank the Taiyaki for this patch of Kanon

My 'habit' in missing patches for Kanon lost a round (for once) as I didn't miss the release of NDT's latest patch for the Ayu Tsukimiya route.

I was however a tad preoccupied with something else yesterday to actually think about writing this post about it.

And seeing as they'll be releasing a 'finalised' patch for it next month, I'm simply going to wait for that one now (unless I happen to get bored and decide to play their current 'completed' patch before then).

Now I get to patch my Kanon with Gyuudon

I know I said I was going to consider waiting until Kanon is completely translated, but I just thought it was funny that the habit has continued to the new patch for Mai Kawasumi's route.

If I miss the release of NDT's next patch, then I'll have a complete set of misses.

Well, it'll certainly be interesting to see if the 'habit' strikes again once the patch for Ayu Tsukimiya's route is done. Although I'll probably be more interested in playing the actual VN at that time to even care about it.

Patches of the Nikuman and Strawberry variety

My ever watchful eye had missed the release of not one, but two new patches for Kanon (and I seem to have a habit for it). These patches translate the Makoto Sawatari and Nayuki Minase routes in the VN.

I might consider the notion of waiting until NDT have finished translating the other routes before playing the VN, as that'll be the best time to fully enjoy the game.

Not to mention there's also the factor of me already seeing both versions of the anime adaptation that's making me less keen on playing it right this second.

Vanilla flavoured Kanon patch is good for voices

I've been so preoccupied with Umineko lately that I missed the release of the newest patch for Kanon by Non-Directional Translations.

It still isn't fully translated yet, but at least you can complete Shiori Misaka's route. Although the best bit about this patch for me is that they've included the means to enable voices this time.
