Some old classics on shiny new discs

Yeah, Nemmy got lazy in doing this again.

But to be fair I was playing the Tsumihoroboshi Chapter of Higurashi no Naku Koro Kai that was released by MangaGamer (not to mention getting the partial patch for Muv-Luv as well).

Anyway, Nemmy got some more DVDs (sorry, no toys again) this week, and the first one which I received on Monday from supermart_usa was Cowboy Bebop Remix Complete Collection (and it was much cheaper its UK released counterpart!).

On Thursday from HMV.com I received the 5 Disc Movie Collection of Street Fighter.

I know I already have the Street Fighter II movie, but the set was listed for a tenner and too good to ignore (even though the Street Fighter Alpha movies aren't all that great in all honesty).

Yesterday from liza0025 I got Ulysses 31 The Complete Series.

What more can I say about Ulysses 31? Its an old classic I used to watch on Channel 4 oh so many years ago.

And today from Play.com, Nemmy got his paws on Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone two days before its official release date!

Kanon with a side of Die Hard

Here's some more DVDs I got this week.

First we have Die Hard 4.0 Ultimate Action Edition from uk-no1-store that arrived on Tuesday.

This is the one with the 'Unrated' cut I mentioned before, and boy it makes it feel more like a Die Hard film with all the profanity and gore intact.

And now to today where I received Kanon the Complete Collection from supermartusa.

Yeah, I'll admit Kanon is a very cutesy series, but its also one of the better adaptations I've seen of a visual novel (unlike some which make me rage!).

Hell, you may even recall some of the posts I made about the Kanon VN when it was in the stages of having partial translation releases.

Taking a chance on a Giant Robo

I guess I should start this by mentioning The Nerdsphere (that'll please them no doubt), for it was there that I got some interesting recommendations on anime DVDs from the other members.

And with that being said, the DVD I received from all your music today was Giant Robo The Animation Perfect Collection.

I decided to grab this because it was under a tenner, and of course the giant robot factor.

Other than that, I don't really know that much about Giant Robo (besides the fact it got released as a Revoltech a few years ago), so I'm hoping it won't disappoint.

Yippee-ki-yay, King of Braves!

Here's yet another postings of 'no toys, just some DVDs' from yours truly.

Anyway, this next lot of DVDs from Tesco and supermart_usa are as follows.
  • Die Hard 4.0
  • King of the Braves GaoGaiGar Season One Collection
Die Hard 4.0 (a.k.a. Live Free or Die Hard) was a gift from my dad that he got when he went shopping this past Wednesday.

I did like this film a lot when I saw it on TV (I believe it was on Channel 4), and from what I understand both it and this DVD are the 'PG-13' cut.

After learning of this I really want to see that so-called 'Unrated' cut so I can see how it should have been (c'mon, even the usage of "Yippee-ki-yay, Motherfucker!" got hit by the censors).

And of course there's the GaoGaiGar I got yesterday, or at least half of it.

GaoGaiGar was the first Brave series I watched, and it is still one of my favourite anime series ever.

It got me buying various GaoGaiGar toys, and it also had me watching Betterman because of its apparent connection.
